The origins of this piece date back to 1936, when Dalí designed a sofa in the shape of lips for the English art patron Edward James, based on his collage of Mae West's face that can be used as a surrealist apartment (1934-35). Later, in 1973, Dalí made a new version for the Mae West room of the Dalí Theatre-Museum, in collaboration with the architect Oscar Tusquets. It is an honour to be able to work with his masterpieces and share them around the world.
