This piece embodies the powerful and majestic Leopard.
The name 'Leopard' is thought to be derived from a Greek compound of ŒªŒ ≠ œâŒΩ 'le≈çn' meaning lion and œÄŒ¨œÅŒ ¥ ŒøœÇ 'pardos' meaning spotted.
The colour of the Leopard's skin varies between individuals from pale yellowish to dark gold with dark spots grouped in rosettes which in our sculptures are carved into them so that they are evident.
